Audit and Accounts Senior

Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Office Based

We are looking for an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join our growing audit department, providing support to the Audit Manager and assisting with a variety of work for clients to include annual accounts preparation, audit work, corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, and management accounts. This is an exciting role for an ambitious candidate who is looking to develop and progress their career within Auditing.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to managers in the Audit and Accounts department
  • Cost-effectively managing all aspects of a portfolio of business clients including the accounting and tax affairs of the related parties within the agreed budgets and timescales
  • Planning and undertaking the accounts preparation work on clients, ensuring jobs are taken to a stage of completion ready for review
  • Undertake and manage audits both in-house and on site ready for manager and partner review
  • Taking responsibility for the timely completion of all relevant HMRC returns including P35, P11D, Form 42, etc
  • Assist with meeting statutory deadlines
  • Maintaining a constant dialogue with appropriate clients
  • Assist with meeting billing targets
  • To ensure all duties are performed in compliance with the Firm’s Staff Handbook and Procedures Manual
  • Team development and assisting with their roles and responsibilities as required
  • Mentoring and management of junior staff
  • Effective communication with clients to ensure they are fully appraised of their affairs at all times and are made aware of their tax liabilities in a timely manner
  • Advising on tax planning opportunities and other services


Experience and Skills Required:

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualification
  • Up to 2 years’ post qualification experience
  • Knowledge of accepted auditing and accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of economic principles and current affairs
  • Commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential
  • Knowledge of CaseWare or similar accounting packages & commercial bookkeeping packages like Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills as well as an excellent telephone manner
